Barry has twenty-five years’ experience as a primary school teacher and story-teller in Inner London, and as a forest school teacher for five years. He has travelled extensively, learned a few words in over fifty languages, taught English as an additional language to adults, and literacy to the children of refugees, asylum seekers and Travellers. He also played a central role in the education of his own (now adult) children, and learned a lot himself in the process. The courses he has embarked on include family therapy and an MA in child development in a social context.

Barry is passionate about nature, the environment and children’s education and health, both physical and mental. He lives in Grove Park Ward, from where he cycles widely, including to Morocco two years ago.
