Exhibition of Grove Park’s Invertebrates

Join us on Monday 25th October 10 am-12 pm to discover the world of invertebrates found in Grove Park with our macro-photography exhibition. These photos have been captured by Pedro on the Wild Rangers team who will join us to talk about all these amazing mini-beast finds, all recorded as part of our citizen science work.

The photography reveals so many interesting things about these beautiful creatures, especially their art forms. Patterns in nature have long been known to promote calm and wellbeing.

According to new analysis by the Natural History Museum the UK has only half of its entire biodiversity left, putting it in the bottom 10% of the world’s countries. This trend must be reversed. Invertebrates are so vital to a healthy food production system, whether they are pollinating our crops or churning and decomposing our soils to make a healthy growing medium. You can’t have food growing without the help of these mini-beats.

Take home a wild flower seed ball to create your own pollinator meadow ready for spring.

Between 10 am to 11 am, you will have a chance to look at the exhibition (both printed and on screen) and look through a macroscope at some specimens. Then at 11 am join a walk with Pedro and Stephen to retrace some of the transects where these species were recorded, through the Nature Reserve.
