Popup Cafe – Fusion Food Lunch

Pop in for lunch and refreshments on Friday 29th October as part of the usual Friday Cafe at the Ringway Centre, with a twist.

On the 29th the Ringway Centre will be serving food influenced by different cuisines across the Dominican Republic and Caribbean as well as Greek and the Middle East. Come sample the different flavours.

Lunch will be free to families on low income, thanks to the generous support by Lewisham Local and 4 in 10.

The usual cost for main meal is £3.00 with proceeds going towards the running and improvement of our community centre.

Thinking of joining? Please tell us that you would like to come along for lunch, by completing the booking form here. This will help us make enough food!

Menu:

Baked carrot-zucchini rice and chicken

Lentil Soup with coconut rice (vegetarian)

These two dishes will have a Dominican / Caribbean twist, with spices and flavours from these warmer shores, with an international twist. Both dishes are warming and healthy.

Dolmathes with Greek Salad

Another dish has its origins from the Levant area (eastern Mediterranean – western Asia), with the true orign always debated and disputed. But whether Armenian, Greek, Ottoman, Arabic or Middle-Eastern, this dish is now eatern in many different countries, all with their own unique twist. This version will be a vegetarian variant, using edible preserved vine leaves.

The dishes celebrate the diverse cultural influences on our food today. Pick up an info sheet on the day about the origins of the ingredients and the dishes.
